OUT OF SCHOOL
All children and young people need to ‘play’. The impulse to play is innate. Play is a biological, psychological and social necessity, and is fundamental to the healthy development and well being of individuals and communities. Play is a process that is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. That is, children and young people determine and control the content and intent of their play, by following their own instincts, ideas and interests, in their own way for their own reasons.
At Crazy 4 Kids we will act as facilitators to children’s play, supporting the children in all they do. We will make available to the children a range of activities that the children will be free to choose from, i.e. arts and crafts, puzzles, board games, exploration, role play, cooking and outdoor and indoor team games. These activities will be the ‘core’ activities that will be available at every session; we will enhance these by offering ‘specialist’ activities.
Outdoor/Physical Play
Is very important for maintaining children’s physical health and well being. All clubs either have their own outdoor areas or where this is limited, we will use the local parks or school playing fields. All children are encouraged to take part in any outdoor activities offered and to make use of the outdoors
- Favourite Activities include:
- Tree Climbing
- Den Building
- Team Games
- Parachute Play
- Skateboards and Scooters
- Racquet Games
- Gardening
We also offer specialist coaching in holiday clubs along with external visits and outings.
Traditions and Festivals
Children will be involved in exploring different traditions and festivals around the world, and will be provided with activities relating to the festival or tradition that we are celebrating. This will enable children to explore the ways in which different cultures live and celebrate.
